Franco-American Singer Josee Vachon Records Another CD.
Born in Quebec, Josee’s family settled in Maine. For over twenty-five years, she has been sharing her Franco American heritage with audiences far and wide. She performs traditional and contemporary songs as well as her own compositions. She began singing publicly with the support of the Franco-American Center at the University of Maine at Orono. She has appeared at Constitution Hall, Washington, DC., Women’s Singing Traditions of New England Tour (1994), Congress Mondial du Conseil International d’Etudes Francophones, Martinique, l’Institut Francais, Berlin,Germany and Festival ete indien, St-Etienne, France. Josee hosted the television program BONJOUR, taping over 500 programs that aired on cable and public television stations in Louisiana, Northeastern U.S. and Canada. She performed on the CD MADEMOISELLE VOULEZ-VOUS DANSER: FRANCO-AMERICAN MUSIC FROM THE BORDERLANDS, as well as many others.
